General information

VASTConnect provides a platform connecting students with landlords and agents offering rooms near CUT and other supported campuses. We do not guarantee that any room is available, affordable, safe, or suitable for your needs. Listings, map pins, and distances to campus are for general information only.

User responsibility

Students, landlords, and agents are responsible for verifying information, viewing properties in person, checking tenancy agreements, and complying with applicable laws and institutional rules. Any rental agreement is strictly between you and the other party — not VASTConnect.

No vetting or background checks

VASTConnect does not conduct criminal background checks, qualification verification, property inspections, or landlord reference checks. Listings, photos, and contact details are user-generated. You must independently verify landlords, agents, properties, and fellow students before sharing personal information, paying deposits, or moving in.

Direct owners, agents, and subscriptions

Listings are labelled as direct owner or agent fee where provided by the poster. A semester pass ($1) may be required to unlock direct owner contact details; this payment goes to VASTConnect for platform access — not to the landlord. Agent fees, if any, are separate arrangements between you and the agent. We do not guarantee the accuracy of fee labels or account types.

Maps, WhatsApp, and favourites

Map routes and distance estimates are approximate. WhatsApp and phone communication occur directly between users once contact details are shared. Saving a listing to favourites does not reserve a room or create any obligation from the landlord.

Never pay to secure a room upfront

Do not pay money to reserve, hold, or "secure" a room before you have viewed the property and agreed terms with the landlord in writing. Requests for upfront payments to private EcoCash numbers, "viewing fees", or deposits to strangers are common scam tactics. VASTConnect will never ask you to pay a landlord or agent through our platform to guarantee a room.

Report suspicious listings

If you encounter a listing, message, or contact that appears fraudulent, misleading, or requests payment to secure a room, stop contact immediately and report it to hr@vastconnect.co.zw, 0772 533 899, via WhatsApp, or through Contact Us. Include the listing title, poster name, dates, and screenshots if available. You may also use the report feature on a listing page. We may remove content and suspend accounts while investigating.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe, VASTConnect Technology shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from use of Student Rooms, including tenancy disputes, property condition, theft, injury, financial loss, or interactions between students, landlords, and agents.
